On the bottom front or chin, there are touch navigation buttons.
On the backside, there is the main camera, LED flash, fingerprint sensor, and Gionee logo all aligned vertically as per the order we mentioned. Core Internal Hardware
Below the gorgeous display, we get MediaTek MT6753 SoC with a 1.3 GHz octa-core processor and Mali T720 GPU. The system also hosts 3 GB of RAM which is a good size of memory. The amount of RAM onboard is satisfactory for phones in this range. This combination of processor and RAM can provide good smooth performance. The internal storage of the phone is 32 GB and can support SD cards up to 128 GB.
This powerful beast is fed by a 3150 mAh battery and it runs on Android Marshmallow. Gionee S6s may get Android Nougat soon as per our estimate. Talking about other features, the S6s include features such as 4G, back placed fingerprint scanner, and hybrid dual SIM. Just like other Gionee phones, the S6s also has Amigo UI.
Actually, in our view, the battery life is very good due to OS and power management. Software is very important along with hardware because power management is highly dependent on it.

Display and Camera
The Gionee S6s comes with a 5.5” IPS display. It has a full HD 1080p or 1080×1920 resolution with a 401 ppi pixel density. On top of that it is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 which is a 2.5D curved screen.
Gionee S6s consists of excellent camera sensors on both sides. At the back, there is a 13 MP main sensor with f/2.0 aperture while the front side has an 8 MP sensor module with f/2.2 aperture. Both of these cameras can take high-resolution images and full HD 1080p videos. The back camera is able to take bright, detailed photos, panoramas, and FHD videos. 8 MP for the front camera is also enough to take good selfies and provide great video calls. The main focus of this phone is on the front camera and selfie. So there are features targeted for selfies.
Summing Up
For the Nepali market, it is a mid-range phone due to its price. The protected 2.5D HD screen is a nice touch-up with a metal body. Metallic chassis is becoming very common and popular in the smartphone industry. So Gionee has played well with build quality here.
We love the fact that Gionee S6s has an octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, and a massive battery. The 3150 mAh battery can run this device easily for a day but the company could have added a bit more bigger one. We give thumbs up to Gionee for keeping USB Type C and fingerprint scanner but we miss Gyrosensor which is absent here. Despite some small points, S6s is a good phone for the price but with lots of competitors like Redmi 3S, Galaxy J7 2016, and OnePlus X.
