Internal Hardware: Processor, RAM, Battery
Vivo Y55 is powered by a Snapdragon 680 chipset which came last year. It is paired with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The storage is expandable using a micro SD card while the RAM is expandable using Extended RAM 2.0 which provides 4 GB of more memory. So in total, there is 8+4 GB of memory or RAM. This provides ample space to run multiple heavy apps simultaneously. It should also provide power for light to medium-level gaming with ease.
Y55 has a 5000 mAh battery that supports 44W FlashCharge which makes it pretty fast in market comparison. According to Vivo Nepal’s website, Y55 can charge up to 50% in 28 minutes and it can provide 18 hours of YouTube streaming or 10 hours of PUBG gaming. On top of battery capacity and charging there is one new feature called VEG (Vivo Energy Guardian) technology. This is a special feature for protecting the battery against overcharging, heating, and battery-related issues.
For audio, Vivo Y55 has Audio Super-Resolution technology which provides Hi-Res sound quality. There is also a feature known as a vivid audio feast which is supported by YouTube, Hotstar, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video. Y55 has other additional cool features such as Ultra Game Mode 2.0, Multi-Tubo 5.5, Super System Process, and Nano Music Player. These can be good tools and features for getting better results out of the device.
Cameras and Display
On the front side of the smartphone, there is 6.44 Inches AMOLED screen with 1080 x 2400 resolution and 408 PPI pixel density. The AMOLED panel is an LTM display and supports a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The color range is also DCI-P3 Color Gamut which is quite nice. For the front camera, there is a 16 MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture sitting inside the hole punch which is capable of FHD video recording.
On the backside, there are three cameras. The first main 50 MP camera with f/1.8 aperture is on the upper circle and it also has Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for better-stabilized results. There is a special ‘Ultra Stable Video’ feature available on the camera app to use EIS. The Vivo Y55 has some special features and technologies to bring out better camera results. These technologies are AI Multi-Frame Denoising Algorithm, Double Exposure, features for minimizing false colors, and maintaining sharpness.

On the bottom circle, there is a 2 MP Bokeh camera and 2 MP Macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. By saying ‘Bokeh’ the company is providing a depth sensor for the background blur effect. We know having 3 cameras is good but we are really not supporters of low-megapixel sensors because they don’t do much. It is better to have a high megapixel ultrawide or depth sensor instead of many cameras.
