Motorola Nepal has launched its budget smartphone in Nepal for 2022. The company has launched the Moto E40 in the market with a Unisoc chipset, 90 Hz screen, and triple cameras on the backside. The Moto E40 was launched globally in October of 2021 but it has just made to Nepal in May of 2022. That is a six month’s delay and for a budget smartphone that is quite a long time. Design and Build
The Motorola Moto E40 is an E series phone in the budget segment. It has a plastic body with a textured back. The dimension is 165.1 x 75.7 x 9.1 mm and the weight is 198g. On the left side of the phone, there is a SIM card tray, on the right side, there is a volume rocker, Google assistant key, and power button. Similarly, on top, there is a headphone jack and at the bottom, there is a USB port along with a speaker grill and microphone.
The front of the phone has a 6.5″ screen with thick bezels around it which also has an earpiece at the top. Thick bezels are perfectly acceptable at this price range. Then on the back, there is a fingerprint scanner with the Motorola logo at the center and a vertical camera island with three cameras at top left. These days other companies use unnecessary large camera islands but Mototla is using a sensible amount of area which makes the design look good. On top of all these, Moto E40 has an IP52 water repellent design which makes it safer from sprinkles and splashes.

Internal Hardware: Processor, RAM, Battery
On the inside, Motorola Moto E40 has a Unisoc Tangula T700 chipset with an octa-core processor and Mali G52 GPU. This is a chip manufactured by TSMC in a 12nm node. According to benchmarks shown at notebookcheck.net, the performance of the Unisoc T7000 chip is near to Helio G80 and Helio P90. For memory, there is just 4 GB RAM and for storage, there is 64 GB eMMC internal storage. The phone however does support a 1 TB micro SD card for expanding the storage. In the battery department, there is a 5000 mAh battery with 10W normal charging. According to Motorola, in standard condition, this battery can provide 40 hours of normal use.
Screen and Cameras
On the front side of the Moto E40, there is a 6.5″ IPS LCD Max Vision screen with HD+ resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate, and a punch hole at the top. Inside the hole punch, there is an 8 MP camera for selfies, video calling and face unlock. The phone has both face unlock and a fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
At the backside of E40, there is the so called 48 MP triple camera system in vertical alignment. There is a main 48 MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture that uses Quad Pixel technology and also has PDAF. Then there is a 2 MP depth-sensing camera and 2 MP macro camera both at f/2.4 aperture. Both front and back cameras can record 1920x1080p videos at 30 fps.

The Moto E40 is available for purchase in Nepal through eCommerce platforms and authorized retail outlets. It is available in the Carbon Gray color option on the market.
