Chaudhary Group (CG) which is one of the popular FMCG brands in Nepal has launched two new smartphones. CG EON Blaze Pro & CG EON Blaze 6.0 are the two new budget range phones. In the market, there are very few Nepali brands like CG and Colors. Chaudhary Group is one of the established multi-million dollar business conglomerates of Nepal and they have a small phone division too. Last year, they launched a mid-range smartphone in the market known as CG Eon eLite. Now the company has launched two more budget phones.
There are two smartphones this time. Among those CG EON Blaze Pro is relatively smaller phone and CG EON Blaze 6.0 is the bigger one. Both of these phones rest in the phablet family due to their screen size. These are absolutely big phones available in the affordable budget category. Actually, instead of being similar, we can say both have the same core specifications except for the storage, look, and screen size. CG EON Blaze Pro Details
This phone sports a 5.5” LCD screen with HD 720×1280 resolution on a very nice-looking body. It comes with a removable faux metal back which looks pretty good because real metal is not available on this budget. The phone has a 2400 mAh lithium Ion battery which powers the device. It is a decent-sized battery to power it for the whole day. The phone runs with Android Marshmallow and its UI is very stock-looking with minimal touch-ups. The clean UI is one of the best parts of the phone.

At the front side of the phone, CG EON Blaze Pro has a 5″ screen, touch navigation buttons, and LED notifications. It is a very rare feature in budget phones of this price. Usually, we only see LED notifications in flagship phones. We give a huge applause to CG for implementing clean UI and LED notifications in a budget smartphone. The CG Eon Blaze Pro price in Nepal is Rs 9,699 for an 8GB model.
CG EON Blaze 6.0 Details
This is a very big phone with a 6″ screen and 16 GB internal storage that comes at this price tag. Usually, budget phones of this price don’t have such large screens. In terms of price, CG EON Blaze 6.0 price in Nepal is Rs 11,111. The Blaze 6.0 is targeted to people who want a big screen and consume visually rich content such as movies, videos, and games.
Unlike the CG Eon Blaze Pro model, the back cover of EON Blaze 6.0 is non-removable. So it has a sealed-in battery which is the new trend these days. The battery size is 2800 mAh battery to be exact which is 400 mAh bigger than Blaze Pro.
In Hand Experience
CG EON Blaze 6.0 has a big screen which is a really good thing to have but on top of that, there is 2.5D glass which gives a great touch to the phone. It is both aesthetically and physically pleasing. Some people have big hands, watch movies, and play games while other people just browse the internet, use social apps and take photos. There are various usage so big screen is quite fruitful.
The EON Blaze 6.0 has a really large screen but just 720p resolution so the pixels aren’t quite pleasing. We really wish to see a 1080p resolution screen but budget phones don’t push the envelope that far because cost increases with higher resolution.
The raw performance experience of both phones is pretty similar. As both phones have the same processor and RAM, raw performance is very same. The pure Android OS and cleaner UI actually made things easier for the phone because it is just using 1 GB RAM. Here also it would have been better to have 2 GB RAM but we can’t complain because of the price tag. One new thing in software is the inclusion of a new app called CG Care which is apparently an app to help users contact CG mobile services.

Now regarding camera performance, it is decent as the 13 MP sensor at the back takes high-resolution photos with great details. The settings option of the camera app doesn’t have a quantitative resolution selection which is a downside but the quality is good as expected from a 13 MP sensor. The front-facing camera is 5 MP which can also take good HD photos and videos.
All the specs of CG Eon Blaze Pro and CG EON Blaze 6.0 are decent according to the time and market. Our suggestion to CG is to just bump up the battery size next time. In summary, CG is providing a neat package at a very reasonable price tag. CG has taken a good step to cover this segment, now they need to cover other price segments as well.
