Kratos Technologies which is the official distributor of OnePlus products in Nepal has launched the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G in the market. The company first ran a pre-booking campaign with many gifts and benefits for the pre-ordering customers. Oneplus 10 Pro 5G is now available for purchase in the Nepali retail market and it is one of the most expensive flagships from the company.
When OnePlus One was released in 2014, I remember that it was one of the most admired phones that came with flagship hardware and a very low price. However, the prices of OnePlus have been climbing since then and they have also changed their product line. At first, they only released one or two flagship-level products in a year. Now the company sells one of the most expensive flagship phones and also some affordable mid-range smartphones. Design and Build
OnePlus 10 Pro is a big flagship phone with a 6.7″ screen housed in a body of 163 x 73.9 x 8.6 mm dimension. On the front side, there is a massive screen with a hole punch on the left top side for the camera. Then there is a speaker grill in between the frame and screen. The trend of hole punches at the center of the screen and notch is widespread but some phones do have hole punches on sides as well. It is the taste of the individual user to decide what they like.
The frame of the OnePlus 10 Pro has metal side rails which go to the back of the phone and forms a camera island. This design is similar to the Samsung Galaxy S22 camera island design. There is OnePlus branding at back with a Hasselblad branding on the camera island. The camera island is actually interesting because that is made of 3D nano-microcrystalline which has 8.5 Mohs hardness.
Internal Hardware: Processor, RAM, Battery
OnePlus 10 Pro 5G is a top-level device and it has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The expensive model can go up to 12 GB RAM with 512 GB storage. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the fastest and most powerful mobile CPU available in the market. So it is capable of all types of demanding work, gaming at the highest settings, and running multiple apps in the background. All of this is powered by a 5000 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. The 80W fast wired charging is called SUPERVOOC and 50W wireless charging is called AIRVOOC. These are very high power charging and it seems the industry is moving for even faster charging.
Screen and Cameras
Since last year, LTPO panels have been the go-to choice for flagship phone users and manufacturers. Oneplus 10 Pro also comes with a 6.7″ AMOLED panel with LTPO technology and QHD+ resolution. Due to the LTPO 2.0 technology, the refresh rate of the screen can go from 1 Hz to 120 Hz according to the content on the screen. OnePlus has also incorporated some awesome features such as dual-color calibration for higher color accuracy in any brightness setting, AI adaptive brightness, and Super-Res Video which enhanced images or videos by a maximum of 4 times.
Hasselblad is a reputed brand in the camera world and OnePlus has partnered with them. The Oneplus 10 Pro 5G has second-generation Hasselblad optics. On the backside, there is a 48 MP primary camera with a Sony IMX789 sensor, OIS, and Laser AF. Then there is a 50 MP ultrawide camera with a 150˚ field of view and an 8 MP telephoto camera with OIS capable which also has 3.3x optical zoom. The camera has second-generation natural color calibration from Hasselblad and supports 10-bit images. Moreover, the Pro mode supports 12-bit RAW images in DNG format. The maximum video recording capacity of the rear camera is 8K at 24 fps and 4K at 120 fps. This means very high-quality slow-motion videos can be recorded as well.
On the front side of this phone, there is a 32 MP selfie camera on the left side inside a hole punch. This camera has gyro-EIS and is only capable of shooting 1080p at 30 fps. Frankly, that is quite low considering how mid-range phones have better video shooting capacity. Moreover, if we consider the immense camera power of the rear side, it’s not impressive.
