Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime Render Models

Samsung Galaxy J7 is a very famous model from the J series among Nepali and Indian consumers since its launch. It is very popular among people who love big screens, quality displays, and fast performance. So Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is the new addition to the J family in 2016. The company revised both Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) models for Prime models. There are new improvements and changes here to provide customers with the best features. However, the naming scheme can be confusing to users.

Among the J series phones launched in 2016, Galaxy J7 Prime is a model running on steroids. It has upgraded hardware, better design, solid feels, and looks more premium due to the metal body Gorilla Glass protection. The Galaxy J7 Prime price in Nepal is Rs 29,490. So this is somewhat expensive and falls in the mid-range category.

Design and Build

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has a metal body construction with curved front glass, rounded corners, and a curved back for easier grip. It has dimensions of 151.7 x 75 x 8 mm and 167g weight. The phone has a big 5.5″ LCD screen at the front with branding, an earpiece, sensors, and a camera above the screen. Below the screen, the phone has touch navigation buttons and a home button.

Volume rockers are on the left side, the power button is on the right side and the headphone jack is at the bottom. Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has a neat design change as it placed the speaker in a new different position. The speaker is now on the right side above the power button. People are saying that the speaker is clear and better than having a speaker at the back or bottom. Thus at the back, there is just Samsung branding, a camera, and an LED flash.

Core Internal Hardware

Underneath the big display, there is an Exynos 7870 octa-core processor. It is clocked at 1.6 GHz and paired with a Mali-T830MP2 graphics processing unit. We also get 3 GB RAM and 16 GB built-in storage. This latest Galaxy J7 Prime now supports micro SD cards up to 256 GB. This is upgraded support from 128 GB that was on the older J7 2016. There are a total of 3 slots where there are two dedicated slots for SIM cards and one for a memory card.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime boasts a 3300 mAh battery which is impressive. It is also running the Android Marshmallow OS with a new UI with very less bloatware. It is being said that this phone might receive the new Grace UI with the new update. Galaxy J7 Prime will surely receive Android 7.0 Nougat in the future. So Grace UI must come with Nougat.

Screen and Cameras

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has a 5.5” PLS LCD panel with Full HD 1080p resolution and 401 ppi pixel density. This is a very good quality screen. For better safety, there is also Gorilla Glass 3 protection. On the same front side, J7 Prime also has an 8-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture. This selfie camera can record Full HD videos and provide highly detailed selfies.

The camera on the front has also been improved in this new iteration of J7. We actually have the same 13-megapixel camera at the back so we can still take high res photos with vivid colors and great details. Both front and cameras are capable of recording 1920x1080p videos at 30 fps.

Summing Up

Galaxy J7 Prime has features such as OTG support, 4G LTE, WiFi Direct, and a fingerprint sensor at the front. It holds a powerful processor, higher RAM, a bigger battery, new software, better cameras, and an efficient system. There are lots of improvements and polish in this new edition. Samsung has ultimately created a good mid-range phone with high-class quality. The only letdown is the dropping of an OLED display. TFT screen is good but it can’t match the quality of Super AMOLED.

Samsung missed a small step here again. OLED display could have made it a perfect successor over its older brother. Anyway, this phone is still a really good option for this price and it is definitely a recommended option. It is also a worthy challenger to Samsung Galaxy On8.
