Apex Group of Nepal is planning to build a big empire of smartphone chain stores all around Nepal. Apex Digital which is the subsidiary of Apex Group plans to open around 40 stores in Nepal by 2017. According to the press briefing, Apex will be selling smartphones and accessories in a very different way than other retailers. The main motto is to provide different phones at ease to customers and end the monopoly. So Apex Digital is going to have a chain of smartphone stores where people can get genuine products only.
Many of us experience pushed sales and market monopoly while buying a new phone. Store managers would recommend and push some phones to customers as they get higher commissions. People who really have an understanding of smartphones buy good products but gullible people buy the pushed product. In this game, people don’t get the quality product they deserve.
We believe in fair play and this new initiative should help customers to get the best phone without the hassle. So Apex Digital is planning to solve such issues by providing various brands in one store. Apex Group organized a blogger meeting with Delta Digit, Gadgets In Nepal, Gadgetbyte Nepal, and Techno Nepal to introduce this new venture. They are pushing this via a multitude of media houses and platforms. Just for your information, Apex Group is a very big business house that owns Ambe Cement, Modi Hydropower, Bhaktapur Brick Factory, and many other industries.

Apex Digital Stores and Details
The First Apex Digital store inside Kathmandu Valley just opened on October 3rd at Pako of New Road and Thimi in Bhaktapur. 6 more stores will be opened in the first phase of October. Narayanghat will host the biggest digital store with approximately 1500 square feet of space. The next big store is at Jhapa with 800 sq. ft and in Dang, there is a plan for a similar-sized store.
Apex Digital plans to improve its penetration in all the development regions. Apex Group told they are still fighting for prime location real estate. This is because the location is very important in business. People only come to places which is easily accessible. This is important at an earlier stage of any business.
Expansion of store location will take place in three stages. At first, there will be 6 main stores at a very prime location inside big cities like Pokhara and Kathmandu. Phase 2 will install 14 other stores and in Phase 3 Apex will push around 20 more stores to deeper parts of the country. Overall Apex has a huge plan of putting stores in various parts of the country. This is very capital-intensive but the company has the backing to do so.
All these investments, and the incoming of new companies to the Nepalese market is due to the rising adoption of smartphones by Nepalese. People are moving to digital, services are becoming digital and the world is going mobile first. These big business houses are trying to get into the story at an early stage.

Specialties of Advanced Apex Digital Store/Showrooms
There is one very unique facility and technology at the Apex Digital stores. Companies will have specially dedicated stalls for their flagship phones. People could test and try the new mobile phones there and a big screen above them will display the specification of that phone. As the user picks another device, the computer will display a comparison of both phones on the screen. This will educate the customer easily and help them to reach a decision. The company also won’t push customers in the greed of commission.
Another very interesting thing is that there will be no Indian brands on display and store at all. Apex Digital has partnered primarily with Chinese and other international brands. Apex will feature brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, HTC, Lenovo, ZTE, Gionee, Oppo, and Apple. So we won’t be seeing Lava, Micromax, and Karbonn. However, they might add other new companies if the situation suits them.
Offers at Apex Stores
Apex Digital wants to make itself unique among other retailers. So they will be proving free tempered glass and back-covers with each mobile phone purchase. This is a very good deal because it can save around Rs 300-500 for any customer. People spend Rs 500 on average for cover and tempered glass installation. This thing shoots up for flagship phones and curved screens. Soon Apex Group is also planning to sell its own branded accessories. So Apex Digital may also provide covers, earphones, and more.
