Design and Build
Xiaomi Redmi 4X comes with a 139.2 x 70 x 8.7 mm dimension, 150g weight, curved back, rounded corners, and metal back. It is a compact-looking phone with 5 5-inch screen, touch navigation buttons, a selfie camera, an earpiece, and sensors at the front. The backside comes with a camera, LED flash, and fingerprint sensor. On the top of Redmi 4X, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, and microphone. Then at the bottom, there is a USB port and speaker grill. The right side of the phone comes with the power button and volume rockers while the left side comes with a SIM and SD card slot.
Core Internal Hardware
Looking at the specs of Xiaomi Redmi 4X, we get average 2017 specifications. There is a Snapdragon 435 SoC with octacore processor on the inside. The processor is clocked at 1.4 GHz and works with Adreno 505 GPU. There is 2 GB RAM and 16 GB onboard storage. This is very normal or standard for a smartphone at this price range. We hoped to see 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage edition but this is not the case here.
Regarding power, Redmi 4X packs A 4100 mAh battery which is quite big and impressive. Big batteries are always a big yes because they provide juice to use the phone for longer hours. Xiaomi Redmi 4X is currently running on Android Marshmallow OS and it should get Android Nougat update soon. Over the normal Android, the phone is running MIUI 8.0.

Cameras and Display
On the front side of the Xiaomi Redmi 4X, there is a 5″ IPS LCD screen with 720×1280 HD resolution. This is very standard for the display size and budget. HD is quite good and certainly enjoyable for almost all types of content. On the same front side at the top, there is a 5 MP selfie camera with f/2.2 Aperture.
The camera on the backside is a primary 13-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 Aperture. This sensor has phase detection autofocus for better focus. Both front and back cameras can record 1920x1080p full HD videos and shoot high-resolution photos. The 12 MP back camera takes standard high-resolution, detailed, and crispy photos just like other phones that have 12 MP cameras. The camera performance is good at sufficient light but will suffer at low light due to the f/2.0 aperture at the back.
Conclusion
Specs-wise, Redmi 4X is a good phone with a decent processor, decent RAM, and storage sizes. The phone also has a compact plus nice look. From a price perspective, the Xiaomi Redmi 4X is a value-providing device. Globally, Xiaomi is known for bringing and selling awesome phones at lower prices and this is in the league same as others. It is a nice phone with good-quality hardware but it is not as extraordinary as expected.
We love the fact that a budget phone like Redmi 4X has Gyro-sensor, fingerprint scanner, and compass. These are some features that most companies don’t provide. Anyway, this is a pretty good phone for competing in the Nepali market at this price. If Vatsal Impex brings the advanced model at the same price, they have a really good chance at the market.
