Design and Build
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a fantastic-looking metal body with 165g weight, slim size, and 151 x 76 x 8.5 mm dimensions. It has a metal back, with a fingerprint scanner, camera, and dual LED flash. At the front, it has nig 5.5: screen, touch navigation buttons, earpiece, cameras, and sensors. On the left side, there is an SD card and SIM card slot while on the right side, there is the volume rocker and power button. The top of the phone has an IR blaster, microphone, and headphone jack while the bottom of the phone has a USB port and speaker grill.
Redmi Note 4 has a metal body construction with solid and tactile buttons. It has chamfered edges and really nice construction. The back is also slightly curved so that it nestles well in the hand.
Core Internal Hardware
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes in two different variants. Primarily it comes with either a Snapdragon processor or a MediaTek processor. Both variants come in 32 and 64 GB storage models. However, all 4 models have 3 GB RAM, and the prices of all models are set accordingly. Snapdragon 625 is actually 8 core processor with Adreno GPU while Mediatek Helio X20 is 10 core processor with Mali GPU. Both models have the same 4100 mAh battery to power the power-hungry and performance-churning processors. The 4100 mAh battery can really hold up the phone for about 2 days with ease.
In the case of choice, it is purely the user’s choice but we urge you to look at benchmark comparisons to see whether Snapdragon or MediaTek is better. Also, see which models give better battery life. Except for that, all other things are the same in terms of features and sensors. One very important thing we would like to add is that the image processing heavily depends on the processor so look into picture quality as well.

Cameras and Display
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 houses a 5.5” IPS LCD screen with 1080×1920 full HD resolution. It is a fantastic size and resolution so it provides a pleasing experience to look at. Xiaomi really knows how to make a phone with a good display and battery. By the way, we feel that Mi needs to upgrade to OLED but otherwise, it’s good.
For the camera section, both cameras do a good job of taking photos and shooting videos. Redmi Note 4 has a 13 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture at the back which can take 1080p videos and 720p slow-motion videos. There is also dual-LED dual-tone flash on the back for dark conditions and night photography. On the front, there is a 5 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. These are standard sets of cameras and the photography results in sufficient light are good with lots of details but low light will suffer. It is better to have a wider aperture like f/1.8 or f/1.7 for low light. However, most companies use f/2.0 in budget and mid-range devices.
Conclusion
Xiaomi is providing lots of choices with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 which is good. There are good cameras, different processors, faster processors, different base storage, sufficient RAM, and all that in budget options. As discussed earlier, the Snapdragon 625 is an Octa-core processor clocked at 2 GHz, and the Mediatek Helio X20 version is a Deca core at 2.1 GHz. They both are impressively fast processors but the Helio X20 chipset wins on paper. By that, our choice becomes the Mediatek model with 32 GB storage.
However, most people prefer the Qualcomm Snapdragon version due to their quality and Adreno GPU. If you want a bigger storage size then the Mediatek version is the answer. But if you want better battery life, gaming performance and maybe future modifications then Snapdragon version is better choice at this budget for Redmi Note 4.
