Just after the launch of Galaxy J6+ in Nepali market, Samsung Nepal has now launched the Galaxy J4+. These are new mobile phones in the Samsung’s J series. There are normal Galaxy J4 and J6 but these are further iterations. Samsung Galaxy J4+ Price in Nepal is Rs 23,490. It is at the upper price bracket of budget range and after this mid range actually starts. Galaxy J4 Plus is a new phone but we see lots of similarities between this and J6 Plus.
Galaxy J4+ is different from its predecessor in many means. One of the most noticeable is screen and design. Now the phone is using taller aspect ratio of 18.5:9 instead of older 16:9. The body and back side finishing is also same as J6+ but there are some key difference as well. There is improvement in screen, battery size and hardware support on new J4+ compared to older Galaxy J4 which is good.

We can see that the hardware specifications of Galaxy J4+ is similar to the recent J6+ that we just reviewed. So this is an entry level phone in terms of hardware such as processor. In other terms such as screen and features there are some things to talk. Samsung is pushing its 512 GB support in all mobiles which deserves applaud.

Comparing this mobile to older Galaxy J4, we see some upgrades. The screen is now bigger at 6″ and has HD+ resolution. This is not Super AMOLED screen but most phones in this price have LCD so its acceptable. Then, there is a 3300 mAh battery to power this device. In terms of processing power, there is Snapdragon 425 with quad core processor. Here we don’t see any update because it still is quad core just like before. Every other mobile at this price has octa core processor and quad core is not accepted these days. So just like J6+, the J4+ misses here as well.
The Galaxy J4+ comes with standard 13 MP f/1.9 back camera and it is very common. This sensor is popular and reliable so it produces good high resolution photos with great details. The front camera is 5 MP f/2.2 which is decent for good selfies at day time. There are some few new features that might make it stand out. It also has fingerprint sensor at the right side power button and there is gyrosensor as well. Kudos for bringing them to lower end models as well.
There are some new features such as Emotify features, Dolby Atmos and Face Unlock. Samsung is pushing new features in their new breed of phones which is good. In a glance Samsung Galaxy J4+ offers big screen, decent battery and good cameras for the price which is great for content consumers. It is a good phone but the processor is a deal breaker for this. We hope that they improve the processor next time and just add AMOLED screen in this range just like older J5. This could make a great phone and with dual cameras that would be cherry on top.
