Nokia is out with its new flagship phone of 2017. Paramount Electronics launched the new Nokia 8 in Nepal. This is the latest high end phone from company. It is great to see rise of Nokia this year. Current price of Nokia 8 in Nepal is Rs 63,000. It is featuring, top notch hardware and provides a fantastic performance.
This year, before Nokia 8 we saw many mid range and budget range phones from the company. We all were expecting something great from company. Finally at end of year they deliver their best phone offering. Still the model 9 is in development which will take over this as flagship.
Nokia 8 Specs
Nokia now offers great hardware and power at a very competitive price. For starting Nokia 8 features 5.3” IPS LCD with 1440×2560 resolution. It is protected by latest Gorilla Glass 5 for better durability. Beneath the screen we get Snapdragon 835 with octa core processor. The processor has 2 quad core sets, one is 2.5 GHz and next is 1.8 GHz.
For GPU, we get Adreno 540 powering that 2k display. In terms of memory and storage, there are two variants. One model has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage while next has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. This is good option because people can choose according to need and budget. People can also use external memory card up to 256 GB to store additional files.

Nokia has also embraced dual camera technology. The new Nokia 8 is featuring dual 13 MP f/2.0 cameras at back. This setup can shoot videos at 4k at 30 fps. It can take fantastic stills with great details with help of HDR and OIS. The optics is made by partnership with Carl Zeiss which is a German company. Back camera also has laser and phase detection auto focus. At front, it hold 13 MP f/2.0 sensor which is also capable to shoot at 2160p. Only very few phones can record at 2160p with front camera.
Impression
Nokia 8 has good design, build quality and clean software. It is running Android 7.1.1 for now. The Oreo update is also rolling out very soon. It has a 3090 mAh battery powering everything up. The phone packs every sensor we can get hold of. There is finger print scanner at front, gyrosensor, barometer, compass. Quick Charge 3 and Bluetooth 5 have also made it here.
Everything here tell that Nokia 8 is a brilliant device. Nepal is only getting 4 GB RAM version with 64 GB storage. We hope they use wider aperture next time in phone of such caliber. At that price, OnePlus 5 is providing higher memory and storage. Looking at other competitors, Nokia 8 is a great phone to buy at this price range. But we also suggest customers to have a look at OnePlus 5. Else, we highly recommend this new phone from Nokia.
