Our readers and majority of consumers are budget range to mid range consumers. They usually buy phones within mid range or below. Redmi 5A is in mid budget starting range. There are very few phones that offer hardware like this phone under 15k bracket. 5A came after a year of the 4A.

There are two models according to RAM and storage. One is 2 GB RAM, 16 GB Storage and next is 3 GB RAM, 32 GB storage. Nepal is getting 2 GB model with 16 GB internal storage at the above mentioned price. There is no 3 GB model for now in Nepal but we may get in future.
This is a dual SIM model with SD card support of 256 GB at maximum. Battery size is now 3000 mAh which is smaller than previous 4A actually. Camera department is same as before in pixel count. Overall there are not many updates or upgrades. The issue of pricing is usually raised by customers in Nepal. The 16 GB variant in India costs INR 5000 which equal Rs 8k in Nepal and 32 GB costs INR 7000 or NPR 11200. Pricing can be a serious issue for company and consumers. Vatsal Impex states, this is due to market size difference of India and Nepal.
Xiaomi is not putting fingerprint scanner with this phone which can be a deal-breaker for some people. As a budget range phone it only includes major sensors like proximity and accelerometer. For this time camera is good for people and market competition. Surprisingly, Redmi 4A is still having same specs with more sensors and larger battery actually. Considering hardware, specs and other phones in market, Xiaomi has a pretty good offer in this price range. Both Redmi 4A and 5A are good phones so we advice to buy which ever is cheap.
