Xiaomi Nepal is out with new Redmi Note 5A Prime. This is also known as Redmi Y1 in India. The current price of Redmi Note 5A Prime in Nepal is Rs 22,499. Official distributor Vatsal Impex is trying to bring good phones at good pricing these days. Mi A1 is a great example for that. These days people are shifting to mid range phones as purchase capacity is increasing.
Mi Mix 2 is certainly going to be next release from Mi Nepal. The new Redmi Note 5A Prime is a upper budget or entry mid range phone. It is holding a 5.5” IPS LCD at front with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone features a normal rectangular form factor with curved edges. Behind the back, it packs a 3080 mAh battery.
Redmi Note 5A Hardware
On the inside, Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 with 3 GB RAM powers this device. We are getting 32 GB variant in Nepal with external SD card support up to 128 GB. Note 5A Prime has a Adreno 505 GPU for graphics department. It is running with Android 7.1.2 and MiUi 9 on top.
The camera department boasts a 13 MP f/2.2 sensor at back. At front the company is packing a bigger 16 MP f/2.0 camera. Both of these camera can shoot videos at Full HD 1920X1080 resolution. They can take high detail photos at high resolution. The images look brilliant in day light but will suffer in low light situation due to f/2.2. This is very common with many phones with smaller aperture.
Redmi Note 5A Prime is actually packing great amount of sensors and features. We are getting gyrosensor, fingerprint sensor, LED Selfie-light, compass etc. This is great because still many phones at this range don’t have gyrosensor.
Impressions
The chipset came exactly a year ago and it sits below the SD 625. The performance is as expected for this price. 5A Prime is holding 3 GB RAM which gives it great head room for multitasking. The amount of sensors and features at the price point is very appreciable.
It seems that Xiaomi is also on board the Selfie focus market. They have better camera at front than back. The company actually put wider aperture and high pixel count sensor at front. Most people want better back camera. Actually the reverse placement of cameras in this phone would have made it whole lot better. But as this phone is targeted to youth and selfie lovers, it does better job for them.
It has dual SIM feature with dedicated memory card slot. Considering every aspect of this phone in hardware and software, it is a good phone. There are lots of sensors and features. People are getting reasonably newer chipset, sufficient amount of RAM and very good performance at upper budget range.
