Xiaomi Nepal launched the new Redmi 5 Plus within 2 months of international launch. This is a 2018 new generation device with new design language. Company is launching better and competitive phones each quarter. Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is an interesting phone with great specs and design at given price point. Official price of Redmi 5 Plus in Nepal is Rs 23,499 at launch.
Mi is a leader in budget range phone in Nepal and India. They have great offers in the market for everyone. Redmi 4A, Mi A1 are few best examples that we recommend to many people. To revise their lineup, Xiaomi has brought Redmi 5 Plus to Nepal. It is a new phone with refreshed design language.
The company is also following the new trend of tall aspect ratio like others. Redmi 5 Plus is boasting 5.99′‘ 18:9 IPS LCD with 1080×2160 screen resolution. It is operating with Android 7.1 on Snapdragon 625 chipset and 2.0 GHz Octa Core processor. The GPU is Andreno 506 for pushing all those pixels to FHD+ screen.
Nepal is getting 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage model in Nepal at launch. 4 GB RAM model is not out yet but may come in future. Vatsal usually brings new model in future if demand is good. At the back, we get 12 MP f/2.2 camera and fingerprint sensor just below it. It also contains non removable 4000 mAh battery at the back.
The front camera is 5 MP sensor that can record videos at 1920×1080. We are happy to see 2160p record support with main rear camera. Most budget and mid range phones don’t have 4K support. Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus does support Fast Charging which is brilliant for the big battery. It provides great usability and ease in long use or travelling.
Redmi 5 Plus is also protected by Gorilla Glass. It provides extra layer of premium in phone of such range. Nepali phone market is very competitive right now. Most manufacturers are just focusing on Selfie lovers with good front or back cameras but cutting on hardware. Xiaomi is doing great for people who need good hardware and power which is very good. We like balanced phone with poweful hardware and nice camera.
Redmi 5 Plus nicely impresses us with its hardware and design. SD 625, 3 GB RAM, 4000 mAh battery is nice package. 4K video record support, lots of sensors, fast charging etc are also cherry on top. Only if the camera was wider like f/2.0 than it would have been perfect package.
Dismissing the small flaw, we really like what the company is offering with Redmi 5 Plus. At the offering price, is a nice phone under 25k. For people who want a bit better we highly suggest Mi A1 due to software and better camera.
