Coolpad Nepal brought the Cool Play 6 to Nepal after a long wait. This is phone of flagship caliber specs. It is tagged as “Extreme Game Machine” by the company. Company is marketing this phone towards gamers, heavy users and content consumers. Current official price of Cool Play 6 in Nepal is Rs 31,996 at launch. Cool Play 6 is offering some great hardware and experience that almost no other phones offer right now.
Coolpad Cool 1 is a hit phone and now the crown goes to Cool Play 6. It is a very interesting phone at 30K price range. Play 6 is packing Snapdragon 653 Chipset with Octa Core processor and Adreno 510 GPU. Processor includes one 1.5 GHz quad core and another 2 GHz quad core chips. Coolpad Cool Play 6 is running with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB on board storage.
There is no external memory card support so 64 GB is ceiling. At front, 5.5” 1080p FHD IPS LCD greets the users. There is 8 MP f/2.2 front camera at top of the screen. The metallic back side holds dual 13 MP f/2.0 cameras that can record UHD videos. Modules also includes dual tone LED flash for better color in photos taken with flash.

Cool Play 6 is a mid range phone with premium build and challenging specs. Very few phones at this price range have 6 GB RAM and 4K recording supporting camera.
The smartphone is running on Android Nougat but we have confirmation of Oreo update soon. Only Gold and Black color variants are available for Nepali market right now at release. Coolpad is serious with the competition now and this phone shows the game. Cheaper and better phones are the market of Nepal rather than expensive flagship.
Primary Impressions
At current price tag, almost no phone provides 6 GB RAM. It has a good processor and sufficient memory but SD card support would have been great. It is because gamers and media consumers need more space for files, movies, videos and music. With 6 GB RAM and faster processor, users can enjoy high demanding application smoothly. Multitasking won’t break a sweat on this device.
The camera section offers satisfactory wide aperture and decent features like HDR. 2160p video record support and high resolution stills are the deal maker. We appreciate Coolpad doing this. Battery size is also big enough to run the FHD display for entire day. But the life will certainly depend on use. Considering every point including price, hardware, software and features Cool Play is a a very good offering.
