Gionee is a new mobile phone brand in the Nepali market. It is working hard to stand in the smartphone market. There is a pretty strong battle for smartphone market share in Nepal. After about a week of release in India, Pioneer P2M has been launched in Nepal. The Gionee Pioneer P2M Price in Nepal is Rs 9,999. It is a budget range phone with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Most of the phones now being launched are coming with the Android Lollipop operating system. The company wants to target the entry-level segment with this device.
The entry-level market is very big in Asian countries. Nepali and Indian people want the best value products at the least price. Gionee is trying to capture that budget value market. They are using the base-level processor and using the latest software. This can give a good experience to users. Smartphones are improving each year and we can see this with the products of each company. The positive improvement in smartphones is always shown by the budget segment. If there are good devices at affordable prices then we can say that mobile phones are improving. For now, let us have a look at the hardware specs of Pioneer P2M.

Design and Build
The Gionee P2M has a normal design with a plastic build. It has a dimension of 124×62.5×10.9 mm and 140g weight. There is a 4″ screen at the front with capacitive touch buttons for navigation at the bottom. The backside has a removable back with a camera at the top left and a speaker at the bottom. It is a small-sized phone for starters and people who want a budget-oriented Android phone.
Internal Hardware, and Display
Gionee Pioneer P2M comes with a 4-inch IPS LCD screen and WVGA resolution of 480×800. Inside there is a MediaTek MT6580 SoC with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. The system comes with 1GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. This is good and is enough for many people. The storage can be also expanded using a maximum of 32 GB external micro SD card. This support is a bit low because we expect 64 GB these days.
Pioneer P2M is using the new Android Lollipop but there is Amigo 3.0 UI on top. This can hinder the performance of the phone. We request phone manufacturers to use stock android or use Android One like other manufacturers for low-end phones.
Camera
The rear side of the phone has a 5 MP camera with an LED flash. On the front, there is a 2 MP camera with VGA resolution. The back camera is just fine for normal pictures and HD video recording. Pioneer P2M is a dual SIM phone so it is good for the networking part. The phone is powered by a 3000 mAh battery. This is very good because we don’t see such big batteries in small phones. The device also has Bluetooth 4.0 and FM Radio for communication and entertainment.

Impressions with Pros and Cons
The specs are quite low but we have to consider the price. At this price range, it has quite good features. There is a quad-core processor and not just a dual-core processor. The best thing about the Gionee Pioneer P2M is the bigger 3000 mAh battery. This should be able to power this mobile up easily for a day. There is dual SIM support which means it requires that power for network purposes when there are two SIM cards.
Gionee claims that the phone can run for a really long time. This is with the new “Extreme Power saving mode“. Many companies use similar tactics for RAM management and power management. This is a low-power phone and it has Amigo 3.0 UI overlay which can make it slow. Companies should put stock Android as far as possible in entry-level and budget phones. This gives good performance and experience to users. If customers are happy, it is great for everyone.
We do like the fact that there is 16 GB of storage. This is a generous amount for this segment. Big apps are becoming common and no one wants to gasp for space. For the Gionee Pioneer P2M Price, it is a good option in the Nepali market. However, if you want a budget phone with both GSM and CDMA support then Galaxy Ace 4 is the answer. Galaxy Core Prime is the best phone if you want a 4.5-inch phone with the same level of specs and the same price range as Android Lollipop.
