This smartphone comes with a massive 6.67 inches IPS LCD screen and a 5020 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 720G which is a new chipset. This is a good combination for a mid-range smartphone. The SD 720G comes with Snapdragon Elite gaming features and Qualcomm Spectra 350L for better HDR video experience. There is dual SIM support with 1 SD card support as well. In Nepal, we are getting the 6 GB RAM model with 128 GB storage.

At the backside, there are 4 cameras where one is 64 MP primary module. Second is 8 MP ultra-wide, the third one is 5 MP macro sensor and the fourth one is 3 MP depth-sensing module. This combination can record 4K 30 fps videos, 1080 at 120 fps, and 720p at 960 fps. These features used to be flagship just a few years ago and now they are in mid-range. On the front side, there is a 16 MP camera that can take 1080p videos.

NavIC Support, Build and Features

There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the Note 9 Pro. For I/O there is USB Type-C, 3.5 mm headphone jack and IR blaster. It also has WiFi Direct and VoWiFi. The Redmi Note 9 Pro also supports the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) or (NavIC). It is basically a GPS satellite and helps to find the position accurately in India and nearby regions such as Nepal. There is support to other GPS satellites as well. The only difference is that this supports NavIC which is very important for Indian users. It is a new thing in a smartphone and this is here because we are getting Indian versions instead of the global version.

The Note 9 Pro is covered with Gorilla Glass 5 on all sides including the camera. Also, there is P2i splash-proof nanocoating to protect from water spills. The body comes with reinforced corners to give it more strength. It looks beautiful and is strong as well. Whatever protection you might have, always use tempered glass and a cover. They give a lot of protection and we always recommend it.

Takeaway and Impressions

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is a media and gaming centered smartphone with support to a new technology of ISRO. It has a big 6.67″ FHD+ screen which is good for watching movies, browsing the web, and playing games. There is Snapdragon 720G to power the system for demanding apps, programs, and light games. This processor is a good combination with 6 GB RAM and a 5020 mAh battery.

The camera section is also quite powerful because it uses Samsung’s 48 MP main sensor. This can record UHD videos and even super slow motion clips at HD resolution. The feature balance is good and the build is also properly bolstered with Gorilla Glass on all sides. Performance-wise it is a good smartphone for the price and overall also it gives a good value to the users. In this price the Note 9 Pro is a good option.
