Xiaomi Nepal has launched the new Mi 10 and Mi Note 10 Lite in Nepal amid lockdown. These are among the first two phones from the company that has launched in this period. One special thing is that Mi Note 10 Lite is a Nepal first model and it hasn’t been launched in India. The Mi 10 is a flagship phone that comes at a price of Rs 89,999 with top of the line specifications such as 108 MP camera, Snapdragon 865, and 8 GB RAM. The Mi Note 10 Lite is a value offering mid-range device that comes at Rs 44,999 with similar level specs but small trim downs.
Both phones were launched today on May 30th in an online event. The company’s GM did a presentation on both of these smartphones. Shortly after that we also had a short discussion with Mi Nepal’s country GM, Mr. Sourabh Kothari, and other officials. These are two phones for a whole different market segment. The Note 10 Lite is meant for the big mid-range market where people go for value. The Mi 10 is made for few tech enthusiasts who want top hardware of the time. In comparison to Indian pricing, the phones are reasonably priced.

The Mi 10 5G is the first 5G phone in Nepal and it is a global version. However currently there is no 5G, so the phone will work in regular 4G. But the company has now set the record of the first launch in the market. Xiaomi officials stated that they will work with major telecom companies like Nepal Telecom and Ncell when they start developing infrastructure for 5G rollout.

The specs list shows that Mi 10 is one of the most powerful phones in its portfolio. According to Srabani Sen from corporate communications at Xiaomi, they want to put Mi portfolio as a high-end premium while they want to put Redmi as a value-oriented portfolio The Xiaomi Mi 10 has a fantastic set of hardware with one of the fastest Snapdragon 865 octa-core processor and 8 GB of RAM. It has 256 GB inbuilt storage, 4780 mAh battery, and 30W wireless charging with 5W reverse wireless charging.

The screen on top is OLED and has FHD+ resolution with HDR10+rating which means users can enjoy HDR content from various OTT service providers and streaming services. This screen can also go beyond 500 nits which means better HDR and outdoor usage. This screen also has a 90Hz refresh rate which is good because it gives a feeling of better fluidity.
108 MP Mi 10 Camera, and 5G
There are two main specialties of this phone and they are 108 MP camera with 8K video recording support and 5G capability. At the back of the Mi 10, there are 4 cameras in total. The main one is 108 Megapixels OIS-enabled sensor wide-angle primary sensor that can record 8K videos at 30 fps and 4K at 60 fps. These are pretty high resolution and capture a lot of details. The other three modules include 13 megapixels ultrawide, 2-megapixel macro, and depth-sensing cameras.
For pro users, there are RAW and LOG modes. This gives better control to advanced users and helps a lot in manual post-processing and color correction. On the front side, there is a 20-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording capability. Now companies are pushing for higher resolution videos with bigger sensors and more megapixels which is a good push for future smartphones.
Qualcomm SD 865 uses an X55 modem for 5G service. It can simultaneously connect to mobile data, 2.4 GHz, and 5 GHz WiFi all at once. The company is putting Global versions in the Nepali market so it has all bands that the global model has. However there is no 5G in Nepal and India, so people will only be able to get 4G speeds.

Mi Note 10 Lite Cameras and features
This model comes with 64 MP main camera that can shoot 4K videos at 30 fps and 720p videos at 960 fps or super slow motion. Then there is an 8 MP ultrawide, 5 MP depth sensor, and 2 MP macro module. On the front side, there is a 16 MP camera that can take videos in 1920×1080 resolution. 4K at 30 fps and 1080p at 120 fps is becoming very common these days. On top of this resolution, there is one “Vlog Mode” that helps users record videos in vlogging style and share them easily. It means users require less editing and work.
