Mi Nepal is filling the market with its mid range phone from 9 series. The Redmi Note 9 lineup is quite popular right now. There are good models in this family and they offer good competition compared to other devices in the market. So, Xiaomi has launched Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in Nepal. It is the best offering of this lineup. If we compare this phone to the Note 9 Pro, there are very few differences. One major difference is that it has higher memory support of 8 GB. It is also a bit expensive than normal Pro. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max price in Nepal is Rs 31,999 for starting 6 GB model and Rs 34,999 for 8 GB model.
It is always good that there are many options in the market for every budget. Xiaomi has a lot to offer and this phone is one option from their big portfolio. However, a lot of specifications and features overlap with the Note 9 Pro. This leaves a question to everyone about which is better and which one to pick. It is quite tricky because the differences are less and there is a very fine line. The only differences are the selfie camera on the front and the primary camera at the backside.
The Note 9 Pro Max has Snapdragon 720G processor, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, 5020 mAh battery, and 6.67″ IPS LCD screen. This is the specification we saw on the Note 9 Pro. As we said the Max version has bigger megapixel cameras at both front and back sides. The selfie camera is 32 MP and the main back camera is 64 MP. There are other pro-grade features in the software which helps to take benefit of all these.

Processor, Memory, and Battery
The Redmi Note 9 Pro max uses a Snapdragon 720G processor with Adreno 618 GPU. This is a midrange octa-core chip. It is a new chipset and it has features such as Snapdragon Elite Gaming. This helps to improve the gaming performance of the system and provide better gameplay. The phone has 6 GB base RAM and 8 GB as a maximum option with 128 GB storage. It can do mid to high-level work and can provide power for entertainment and gaming. This is a good setup for the phone of this price range. It is quite powerful and has a well-balanced set of internal core hardware.
In case of power, the Pro Max has a 5020 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The battery capacity is the same as Pro which is not bad. This is a respective battery size. But the most interesting thing is 33W fast charging. On top of that, the company is including a fast charger within the box. This thing makes it even a sweeter deal. It means we can get a big battery and fast charger with this whole package. Slowly the higher price and Max naming is making sense.
Camera and Display
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a 64 MP main camera at the backside with 8 MP ultrawide, 5 MP macro, and 2 MP camera for depth. The upgrade in the Max version is in pixel count with a 64 megapixels sensor instead of 48 MP one. All other cameras are the same on the back. Now for features, the back camera supports recording 4K videos at 30 fps, 1080p at 120 fps, and 720p at 960 fps. The software has some noticeable photography and videography features for the rear camera. They are as follows.
- Super stabilization with EIS
- Ultra-wide angle video recording
- Ultra Nightscape mode
- Pro video mode
- Kaleidoscope
- Movie frame (21:9)
- LOG mode, Histogram, Focus peaking and Exposure peaking
The front camera is 32 Megapixels and it also has apparent benefits. First of all, it takes better and detailed high-resolution photos. It supports AI Face Unlock, 1920×1080 video recording at 30 fps and also 120 fps slow motion. The front camera has features such as AI silhouette detection, Magic mirror, Palm shutter, and Wide-angle distortion correction. These are some good features and it is useful for people who want to explore more in mobile photography, take better images and videos. Pro features and granular control are always appreciated by everyone and we think all companies should have this.
Impression
The Note 9 Pro Max is a new model and slightly upgraded version of Note 9 Pro. There are few differences and the price difference is also less. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max price in Nepal is Rs 31,999 for the 6 GB model which is slightly more than the price of the Note 9 Pro model for the same memory and storage. However, in the small price difference, we get better cameras and faster-charging rates. This might be attractive for some users while not important for some.

But in our view, if you can extend the budget, getting the Max version makes sense. Fast charging is one attraction and second is the 64 MP camera. Higher megapixels don’t always mean better camera but here you can get more details and sharpness. Also if you want 8 GB RAM option, this is the only option because only Max has high-density memory.
