Just after short interval of India launch, Mi Nepal has also launched the new Redmi Note 6 Pro. It is a upper range budget phone which has a lot of potential in the very competitive price segment. This new smartphone has a very capable chipset, big batter, display and beefy internals. There are two variants in Nepal, one is 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and next is 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro official price in Nepal is Rs 24,999 for 32 GB model and 28,999 for 64 GB model.
Categorization of this phone is a bit hard because the base model is in borderline budget while next is in mid range price segment. This a very special phone because it has got 4 cameras in total. There are two modules at front and two modules at the back. These cameras now have the new AI-portrait feature. According to the company, this is the successor of most popular Redmi Note 5 AI. The screen is also now 19:9 which means it is much taller than before but in an ergonomic body.

In Nepal, we are only getting the 3 GB and 4 GB RAM model. There is no 6 GB variant at this time. These are very good specs for the price being of under Rs 250000. Redmi Note 6 Pro has some good features under its sleeves as well. It has Bluetooth 5.0 and H.265 decoding. Other normal things include rear mounted fingerprint sensor, gyrosensor and compass.
The screen is also very bright because it can go up to 500 nits and that is very impressive for a upper range budget phone. Redmi Note 6 Pro has dual SIM support and also supports USB OTG. Xiaomi is providing Gorilla Glass on top which is fantastic because very few do this and it is a great thing to have.
Features and Impression
With 4 cameras, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro offers new AI Portrait 2.0 which as 6 bokeh effects. Both sides have dual camera and one is for the depth sensing. There AI based EIS for video recording, dual pixel autofocus, AI portrait selfie and dynamic bokeh. These are some cool features for the camera and they do offer good result. Camera is utmost for new generation these days. Not only that even older generation is into the selfie and camera game now.
There isn’t that huge much change in hardware but the refresh makes sense. We would have loved to see the 6 GB edition as well so we hope if they consider this in future. Overall speaking, Redmi Note 6 Pro is the perfect replacement of Note 5 AI. It fits that same price bracket and comes with some new improvements. The new bigger screen, improved camera are certainly good things to have. So in our view this is a good successor and we hope to see more such refresh in future from Xiaomi.
