These are the phone introduced by the company for the first phase during the launch. As per company officials, their goal is to be in the top 5 vendors in Nepal within 2017. As for the specs and quality, the quality of the phones is very good. The best feature of all currently launched phones is the camera. The company has highly focused on the cameras of its phones. In the launch presentation, officials compared the camera of Cool 1 and iPhone 7. The comparison showed better low-light performance and Bokeh. It was highly appraised by THT Photo Journalist who tested the camera for 2 weeks.

Impressions
Among all the phones, we simply tallied price and hardware specifications. In our view, Cool 1 is the best mid-range phone being offered at this price. It has a bigger battery, superior camera, powerful processing, and lots of features. All specs are quite good but there is one big restriction. In Cool 1, users won’t be able to add an external SD card. That is a huge barrier because this phone can record 4K videos and those files are big. Cool 1 is capable to shoot at 4K which is impressive because mid-range phones of this price don’t have such luxury.
Nepal just got 4G which was announced during NTC’s 13th anniversary. However, Coolpad is already working in 5G and they were working with 4G way before. So obviously all these newly launched phones are 4G. As the company is a pioneer of dual SIM technology, we also get dual SIM support for all these 4 new phones. A few things Cool 1 has that impresses me is that it has Fast Charging and a fingerprint sensor.
All these new phones are pretty great and the prices are also within the budget of average Nepali consumers. The company actually gave a good initial impression of its portfolio and pricing strategy. By the way, most people will compare Indian and Nepali prices. But there are many reasons such as import cost, transport, TAX, and market size. Market size and sales are a big factor because it affects margin. In high volume, profit is easy but in a small market like Nepal, it is hard. For now, we wish JIPL and Coolpad a successful journey in Nepal.
