Huawei Nepal has launched two new phones in the market. They are Y7 Pro 2019 and Y5 2019. This is amidst the trade war and ongoing bans. This shows that the company is very positive with their products. As explained by the company in their latest press briefing earlier, current models don’t have any issues. So these phones will work normally and people will be able to use Google services. Huawei already has Y7 Pro 2019 in the market but this is a new model with a fingerprint scanner. Both of these smartphones are budget range phones.
The price of Huawei Y5 2019 in Nepal is Rs 13,490 and the price of new Y7 Pro (2019) is Rs 20,490. Both of these phones have an entry-level processor, quite a large screen and a decent camera. Y7 Pro is bigger than Y5 and also comes with a larger battery. It also has a better selfie camera which is 16 MP. There are many differences between them and they are written below.

The new Huawei Y5 2019 has very basic hardware. It has Helio A22 SoC with 4 cores and 2 GB RAM. In terms of software, this phone comes with the latest Android 9 Pie and EMUI 9. The camera on the phone is standard and the back camera can also record 1080p videos. It is a dual SIM phone and there is Dual VoLTE which is good. NTC is also working to bring VoLTE now so it can be useful.
The screen of Y5 2019 has HD+ resolution which is good and images turn out sharp at that size and resolution. 13 MP camera is standard but f/1.8 aperture is actually pretty wide and it is good. This should give good photos in most situations. It is a budget phone so it should be still able to give good, high-res sharp photos. The battery size is in the middle ground. It is good to see that they touched the 3000 mAh mark.

This is quite a big phone with a 6.26 inches display. It also has HD+ resolution but at a longer or taller aspect ratio. Snapdragon 450 is an entry-level 8 core processor and all cores are at 1.8 GHz. This chipset has integrated X9 LTE modern which allows up to 300 Mbps download speed through 4G. This new Huawei Y9 Pro 2019 model comes with a fingerprint scanner at back. The fingerprint scanner has now become a necessity or basic demand.
In this phone, we can see the higher pixel count in front camera. This means the selfie camera gives high-resolution photos compared to the back camera. Selfie takers can get very high resolution and detailed photos from this camera. Also at the back, there are two cameras, the 2 Megapixel sensor is for depth sensing. This helps the phone to get better portrait shots as well.
If we see the price of the phone, the hardware on both phones is reasonable. We did expect octa-core processor or Y5 2019 but we have just 4 cores. But in case of Y7 Pro 2019, there is good octa-core chip with 3 GB RAM. The best thing we liked on new Y7 Pro is a big battery. Huawei says that these phones will get security updates and will support Google services and Android apps in the future as well. Now we are also waiting to see how their future phone turns out and what steps they take.
