This smartphone comes with a gorgeous 6.59″ IPS panel which has FHD+ resolution. It is neat looking as the side bezels including top forehead and bottom chin are small. The Honor 9X drops the notch and brings full view experience with a motorized popup camera. That module consists of 16 Megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture. It is capable of recording videos in 1920×1080 resolution at 60 fps. This is pretty cool for a mid range device because most of them don’t give higher frame rates.
On the inside, there is Kirin 7110F octa core processor with 1.7 GHz and 2.2 GHz quad core sets. In Nepal the smartphone comes with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB onboard storage. There is also support for external micro SD card up to 512 GB. This is very good and pretty standard according to time. In order to power everything, there is a 4000 mAh battery that has fast charge support of 10W.
Honor 9X comes with three cameras at the back. The first one is 48 Megapixel main wide-angle sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Then there is 8 Megapixel ultrawide and 2 Mepagixel depth sensor both with f/2.4 aperture. This setup is very common these days and it is good to see Honor following the path of high-resolution sensors. By the way, this rear camera trio setup can only record videos in 1080p.
Feature sets and Impression
The fingerprint scanner is located at the backside of the phone. Backside of the phone has an intriguing X pattern with a glossy gradient finish which looks good. Talking about the features, there is USB Type-C, compass, VoLTE, and other basic stuff. The phone comes with Android 9 Pie and EMUI 9.1.
In a simple internal hardware overview, Honor X looks like a standard mid-range smartphone. However, it does have a very good looking design and display. The hardware is decent and powerful for medium-level workloads and gaming. There is 6 GB RAM so it can handle some good tough gaming. The cameras on both sides are also quite good and they pack plenty of pixels. In our view, this phone is for a person who wants a good looking design, bezel-less screen for entertainment and wants a phone that can drive some games and work.
