Build and Design
The M3 Pro has a plastic body with a 3D curved back and glossy finish. It has a dimension of 61.8 x 75.3 mm with 8.9 mm thickness and 190 g weight. The body and specs are similar to Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G. However, the color, camera island, and branding are different on M3 Pro. This phone has a big screen at the front with a hole punch at the top. The speaker grill is between the screen and top of the frame. On the right side, there is the volume rocker and power button with a fingerprint scanner. Similarly, on the left side, there is a SIM card and SD card slot.
Core Internals
Poco M3 Pro is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 700 processor which has Mali-G57 GPU. This GPU has 60% improvement in machine learning and 30% improvement in energy efficiency. The Dimensity 700 chipset is paired with 4 or 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64 or 128 GB UFS 2.2 storage. This is a new generation chipset with a 5G modem and faster storage. Therefore this phone supports 12 bands and carrier aggregation. But this phone does have support for 4G SIM. So there is no need to worry about support. The M3 Pro comes with a 5000 mAh battery and 18W charging. The company’s website claims to have 2 days of battery life with ideal conditions. However, we know that those ideal conditions differ from real-life usage. From the software point, this smartphone runs MIUI 12 with Android 11 OS.
Display and Camera
The front side of the Poco M3 Pro has a 6.5″ IPS LCD DotDisplay. It has a respectable resolution of 1080×2400 with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The screen has a dynamic switch feature where refresh rate changes according to application. Therefore the screen can change its refresh rate from 90Hz, 60Hz, 50Hz, and 30Hz according to application and need. This massive screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It is good to see a big screen with FHD+ resolution and a high refresh rate in the budget segment. There are few phones that give such a set of features at this price range.

On the top of the screen, there is a hole punch with an 8 MP front camera. This camera can shoot 1920×1080 videos at 30 fps. It has shooting modes such as AI Beautify, AI portrait, Movie frame, and AI Video Beautify. The backside of the phone has three cameras with LED flash on a giant camera island. The design is pretty catchy with different color patches and big POCO branding. Among the three sensors, firstly there is a 48 MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture. Secondly, there is a 2 MP depth-sensing camera with an f/2.4 aperture and thirdly there is a 2 MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture.
The rear camera can take 1080p videos at 30 fps and slow-motion videos at 720p 120 fps. There are modes such as Night mode, AI camera 5.0, Movie frame, Video macro mode, and Time-lapse in the rear camera app. These modes help to achieve better results with some software improvements.
