On the backside of the phone, we find a square came placement on the top side and a fingerprint scanner at the middle side. The triple camera set has a 13 MP primary sensor with a 75.2° field of view, 2 MP macro sensor, and a 2 MP depth sensor. This helps the Redmi 9C to take 1920x1080p videos at maximum resolution. Inside the software, there are modes like AI portrait mode, Beautify 5.0, Scene detection, and Kaleidoscope effects.
Redmi 9C comes with depth-sensing camera and macro camera like many other devices. These days many companies have this combination. However, from a usability perspective, we find that ultrawide is most useful. Xiaomi should focus on putting ultrawide as a secondary camera. After that, we give preference to telephoto and then depth sensor. This combination is better and useful for the users in our view. Companies should work on this strategy to make their devices further better by putting hardware according to priority order when working with mobiles like this.
Xiaomi Redmi 9C has both face unlock and fingerprint scanner for security. The phone has Bluetooth 5.0, OTG support, and a big battery. According to the company’s website, it can provide power for 10 hours of gaming or 21 hours of video playback or 32 hours of the call. These are bold claims, and they also say that the charge cycle count is about 1000. This means the battery will not degrade quickly with heavy usage. People in every category want bigger and powerful batteries now. Xiaomi is doing good in addressing these things.
Impressions
The Redmi 9C is a budget segment phone. It is targeted for the starters, and it comes with pretty nice specifications and hardware. Xiaomi Redmi 9C price in Nepal is also quite reasonable as it has better hardware and sits above the 9C. We find that the upgrades in the new 9C are substantial compared to the 9A. We are getting a new Helio G35 processor, triple cameras, and higher storage options. The phone has neat hardware set to make it a good choice for entry-level in 2020. Its strong points are the new chipset, battery, and the camera. Other things like screen, resolution, and build are fine and according to the market standard.
