Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has been launched in Nepal after quite some time. It came a bit late after the launch of Galaxy S20 and S20+ in March. This is because of the market demand. Nepalese customers do purchase expensive high-end smartphones. Some people like to pay top dollars for the top technology. Galaxy S20 Ultra is a massive phone with the latest technology such as a 108 MP camera, 100x zoom, 12 GB RAM, and a lot more. It is a powerhouse and the company also asks top price for it. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra price in Nepal is Rs 1,59,999 and it is one of the most expensive phones in Nepal till this date. By the way, we want to make things clear that it is 4G phone instead of 5G.
There are few differences between all other S20 models and the Ultra. Screen size, camera, and battery are the obvious ones. The internal differences are RAM size, network support, and fast charge support. There are many other features that make an Ultra. One of the main things is the camera and this model brings it at a high price. Another feature is 5G in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. But in Nepal, we are not getting that. Nepal doesn’t have any 5G infrastructure and it is very unlikely to see it next year as well. Therefore Samsung has only brought the 4G LTE model to Nepal.

Except for 5G support, users get ever other hardware and feature. Samsung is also offering free Galaxy Buds+ with each purchase. This helps to make up for the loss of 5G support because people here are paying the same price as the USA but not getting all features. A free Galaxy Buds+ is a good compensation for the customers. The company is also providing free breakage insurance for 1 year. This is a very expensive phone therefore customers can also get this on EMI from various banks.

The Ultra has the same DNA and internals such as Exynos 990 as found in S20 and S20+. In this model, we see that internal storage is the same 128 GB base but RAM is 12 GB which is quite high. 16 GB RAM is only available in 5G models and we are not getting that in Nepal. In the case of memory card support, there is 1 TB SD card support. Galaxy S20 Ultra has a massive screen that is great for media consumption because it has an HDR10+ rating and it looks amazing. It is also great for normal use because of the 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling.
108 MP Camera, 8K videos, and 100x Zoom
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has a main 108 MP camera and that is its crown jewel. It can take photos of 12000×9000 resolution. This gives very high details and sharpness in a photo. Users can cut crop and zoom with ease in such resolution. This also gives good offset for stabilization and cropping. The phone uses this power for 8K video recording at 7680×4320. It is a very high resolution and it gives great video details. In the S20 and S20+, the camera crops in a bit and gives a smaller frame. But here in the Ultra, there is no such cropping. Users can also take 8K screenshots using those videos or they can also directly take photos parallel to the recording.
There is also a 48 MP telephoto camera with a periscope structure. There are lenses and mirrors inside a very small module that works as periscope and provides 4x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 100x digital zoom. Many reviewers tell that the 10x zoom is actually very good and well usable. 100 times zoom is good to have and there may not be much practical usage but it is good to have it when you have paid such a big amount. There are features such as AI motion analysis, Super Steady, and anti-rolling shutter stabilization.
In the One UI 2.1, there is Pro Video mode and Galaxy S20 Ultra provides 8K video shooting with HDR and 10-bit color support. This looks great in HDR supported Samsung TVs and smartphones. HDR video recording support came in the Galaxy S10 lineup. Users can also directly upload 8K videos to YouTube from their smartphones. The phone is quite powerful because it can also edit 8K videos which is amazing.
Special features and Takeaway
Users get to enjoy 5000 mAh battery and 45W fast charging with the Ultra. This is great for the big 6.9″ display. The screen is at the border of tablet size which is 7″. Its size, bezel, and slight curves amaze us how such large screens just fit into pockets. The processor and 12 GB RAM combination should provide power for all types of heavy tasks and games. This phone has a spec sheet that will stay relevant for years to come and is an investment.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra price in Nepal puts it in the top position for cost and its hardware also puts it in the top position for power. It also takes a high rank for performance. We know that it is using Exynos chipset which is not as good as Snapdragon 865. Many users expect the same hardware and performance when they pay the same price. Still, the S20 Ultra offers a lot of power in all hardware and software aspects. It gives a superb display, refresh rate, storage, battery, camera, and refined software to its users. The Galaxy S20 Ultra is surely a good choice in the premium price range in the Nepali market and it is good to see that the company has finally launched it and completed the series.
