Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ have been launched in a media event in Nepal. The event was organized in the Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu. This was a small showcase of devices for media agencies. The actual product launch and retail sales start on March 13th. Currently, the company is taking pre-booking for both of these devices. In the event, company officials discussed the camera improvements, changes, benefits, and other important aspects. The price is disclosed and the price of Galaxy S20 Plus is Rs 1,19,499 and the price of Galaxy S20 is Rs 1,07,499.
The Galaxy S20 lineup is the new flagship series of the company. It has many improvements on the screen, processing, battery, and camera. The camera is on high focus as always. There are three models actually and they have different camera capabilities. The Galaxy S20 is most basic with three modules at back then there is S20+ with 4 rear side modules and finally, we have the Galaxy S20 Ultra with 4 modules but a 108 MP camera.

Except for the Ultra, both other phones have a regular 12 MP main sensor and 64 MP telephoto sensor. However, the Ultra uses a 108 MP sensor and that changes everything with its power and for 8K recording. A lot of things have changed for the camera this time. Variable aperture like Galaxy S9, Note 9 and S10 series are gone. Now the main sensor has an f/1.8 aperture. It does better low light because of the bigger sensor size and software.
Galaxy S20, S20+ Improvements, and features
In order to have a clear idea of both phones, let us first list our specifications. Both smartphones have similar internals except camera, display, and battery. These are the specs of both of these phones.

We can see that the difference is very less and the main things are just battery and screen. Actually, in terms of camera, the Galaxy S20+ has one additional 0.3 MP ToF sensor for better depth sensing and AR. For every other thing, we have the same level of power. The screen size difference is quite massive and that battery also affects the screen on time. These new phones have screens that support 1080p at 120 Hz. This is where the big battery size makes a difference.
As always customers of the USA can enjoy Snapdragon 865. But Nepalese and all other global customers can only get the Exynos version. This time we have the Exynos 990 which is capable of 8K video recording. The recording takes place through the 64 MP sensor instead of 12 MP one. Samsung has placed its special ToF sensor in both S20 Ultra and Plus. It doesn’t make much of a difference but the zoom makes. Both of these phones can do a maximum of 30x zoom digitally. This lower than the high-end ultra but still much better.
Pre-order, EMI and benefits
If we see the specs of the new phones, we can notice that Samsung has thrown all the latest hardware. That is a very classic move and that is what makes a new flagship powerful. All cutting edge technology makes a high-end phone. But it also needs quality and polishing. These phones have one of the best-looking displays with small bezels and a small hole punch. Surely someday we are going to see that disappear and get new eye candy. For now, these are what we get.
Samsung Nepal is making the deal better with pre-booking benefits. The main one is 12 months of breakage insurance. Then there are offers such as Galaxy Buds+, LED TV and other gifts. There is a lucky draw where the winner can get a free round air ticket from Turkish Airlines. There is EMI as well so interested people can purchase new Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ in installments. Please read our article regarding pre-order for this.
We also went to the launch event in Kathmandu to experience the devices. Our first look was great and we liked both devices. Even though the size of S20 Plus seems big in the paper, it is good in real life. So for now, we are going with a bigger one for great battery and screen real estate. We recommend you to choose one which fits in your hand and mainly your budget.
