Huawei Nepal has launched the new Y5 Prime 2018 and Y6 Prime 2018. Both of these are budget range phones. We saw these phones first listed in the new market price list. These are below the price range of 20k and have small difference. The price of Huawei Y6 Prime 2018 in Nepal is Rs 17,900 and the price of Y5 Prime 2018 is Rs 14,900. These are updated version of predeceasing popular models.
The companies are now fully embracing the new trends like 18:9 aspect ratio tall display and many other things. These smartphones were announced about two months ago globally. They are now available in Nepali market and have interesting offerings. Huawei is a one of the biggest market player in Nepal and all over the world. Both phones do have somewhat similar specs so lets us show them in table.

Both Huawei phones have Face Unlock feature and use company’s Full View display. There is Power Saving 6.0 technology that helps to save the battery efficiently. Y6 Prime has front facing LED and there are modes provided for taking good portrait pictures. Also there is 2.5D glass over the top which makes the phone look and feel good.
Impressions: Both phones have almost same specs, the main difference is in screen size only. Even the battery difference is quite nominal to compare. The have same specs and features. Both are dual SIM phone with slot for SD card up to 256 GB. These are pretty good devices for day to day use and some entertainment.
Both Y5 and Y6 Prime have good amount of memory and storage for mid level tasks. These smartphones have quad core processors so we can’t expect blazing performance. In our view if you don’t need big screen then the Y5 Prime 2018 seems to be a good choice considering price, specs and features.
