Apple launched its new iPhone 13 lineup on September 14th, 2021 during Apple Event. The event showcased the new iPad Mini, Apple Watch, and AirPods. Hardware and Improvements
This year, all 4 phones come with Apple A15 Bionic processor. The new chip uses 5 nm technology and has 6 core CPU. The CPU has 2 high-performance 3.22 GHz core and 4 number of efficiency 1.82 GHz cores. A15 Bionic also has 16 core Neural Engine which provides power to both phone software and camera software. In the case of memory, all the new smartphones have LPDDR4X RAM and for storage, there is NVME flash storage.
The next improvement is in the screen of Pro and Pro Max. Apple has finally upgraded to OLED last year and this year, they have implemented 120 Hz high refresh rate for Pro models. Apple is calling it “ProMotion” and it is not available in the iPhone 13 and Mini.
Last year, Apple armed the iPhone 12 Pro Max with sensor-shift OIS or IBIS which is a superior stabilization feature. This year all 4 models of iPhone 13 have sensor-shift OIS. This helps to provide better stabilization in photos, videos, and low-light situations. On top of that, the Pro models also shoot in ProRes and have a special Cinematic mode to shoot videos.
According to independent reviewers, Apple has increased the size of batteries and also improved the battery life by quite a big margin. Machine Learning (ML), software optimization, and improved hardware all work together to improve the new phones each by small bits but overall they all contribute to providing a good leap.
