Samsung briefed us about a month ago on the arrival of this watch. After that, we used the Samsung Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier quite a few times. We used the device for about a week so this is our impression and short review. Let us first discuss the price of this watch. Samsung Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier price in Nepal is Rs 41,900. It is quite an expensive smartwatch. There is another Gear S3 as well but the company said that the Galaxy Gear S3 Classic is not coming to Nepal because the company thinks it is not fit for here. Samsung Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier build quality is all about luxury, quality, and productivity. The quality reflects Samsung’s attention to detail. Both the Gear S3 Classic and Frontier variants have a stainless steel casing and revolving bezel. The revolving bezel is a unique trademark feature. The gear is for navigation but it also provides a tactile aspect to the watch’s experience. For body, the Samsung Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier is made up of a stainless steel 316L body. On top of the screen, there is Gorilla Glass SR+ that shields the brilliant display from scratches and small impacts. The storage of internal space is sufficient for storing some apps, watch faces, and even a few music. Exynos 7270 is a chip for watches and it delivers good speed for normal use, multitasking, and has snally response.

The watch has a number of sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate monitor, barometer, and ambient light sensor. It also features Bluetooth 4.2 connection as well as NFC for quick and easy pairing with compatible devices.

Experience

Samsung Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier has been on our hands for about a week and we have used it extensively. In our view, the rich colors and clarity of the Super AMOLED display make it easy to read the screen even in direct sunlight. At first glance, we really kept admiring the display. It seemed like a real watch with real needles but when we rotated the bezel, it started showing its power. User interaction is fun and seamless with rotating bezel and touch.

The battery life is impressive with the 380mAh battery which easily lasts two to three days on a single charge. The watch can last up to 3 days with a single charge but longer standby would have been even nicer. For charging, Samsung has added a bundled wireless charging dock that makes it easy to charge the watch without having to fiddle with charging connections.

Wearing the Gear S3 feels like wearing a little smartphone on your wrist. It means it is fully feature-loaded. The user-friendly Tizen OS has customizable watch faces that allow you to show your uniqueness. Menu navigation is pretty fast owing to the touchscreen and spinning bezel, which provides a pleasing tactile experience.

Flipboard is Samsung’s oldest friend and we can still find briefings in this gadget also. Even though the Gear S3 has a small screen, somehow we were also reading news from it.
