Samsung Galaxy A2 Core Price in Nepal

Samsung Galaxy A2 Core

Samsung is always tapping into all segments of the market. They have covered all the tiers with high end, mid-range and budget. They also have ultra budget-oriented phones with Android Go in their portfolio. In 2019 Samsung caters that tier with Galaxy A2 Core. This is the new budget phone with bare minimum hardware. Samsung Nepal has launched this phone in the market. The Samsung Galaxy A2 Core price in Nepal is Rs 9,390. The company also has J2 Core competing at the same segment.

A few years back, they had no good offering for under Rs 10,000 but now they do. This is because many other competitors like Xiaomi are also focusing on that region. Ever since Android Go came out, phone manufacturers are pushing low budget phones for market. Usually, these smartphones come with a quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM.

All these phones have bare minimum hardware that is meant to do the normal level tasks in a phone. Android Go is a very thin and light version of Google’s Android OS. There are almost no bloatware and the operating system is very light. The apps are also small and they don’t consume more resources. Phone manufacturers can give good features with the least hardware due to this software.

Specifications and Features

  • 5″ IPS LCD Screenpanelat 540×960 screen resolution
  • Exynos 7870 chipset with 1.6 GHz Octa-Core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 16 GB Onboard storage
  • 2600 mAh Lithium Ion Battery
  • 5 MP from the cameras on both sides (f/1.9 at back and f/2.2 at the front)
  • Android Oreo Go Edition

This is a very very minimalistic phone. It has basic hardware just to stay alive. There is 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage and 5″ LCD screen. The most special part is the operating system which is Android Orero Go. Most Android Go budget phones have quad core processor but Samsung is using better octa-core processor. This is very good and we give them a big plus on this.

Using 8 core processor instead of 4 cores mean double processing power at disposal. In terms of memory and storage, it is all normal. Another fascinating feature is 512 GB SD card support. This feature was introduced with Galaxy Note 9 and now it is available in all Samsung phones. Most people will only use cards up to 64 GB but it is great to have it there.

Both sides of mobile host 5 Megapixel cameras and their capture resolution are the same. The difference is in the aperture. The front side camera has f/2.2 aperture while the rear side has f/1.9. This means the backside camera has a slightly wider aperture and can take a bit better photos. Many people still like small screen phone such as 5″ and for them, it is a good option. The A2 core also comes with a removable battery. This should be interesting for many people. The only thing missing is the fingerprint scanner. In the current lineup, Galaxy M10 is the closest one inside Samsung ecosystem.

Impressions

This is a budget-oriented phone. It is for people who want a normal and cheap Android smartphone for basic tasks. The hardware of the A2 core can run OS well. The mobile can do all regular tasks easily. Users can also enjoy normal social media browsing and web surfing with lite apps. Using the lite version of Android Apps is the best way to utilize minimal resources.

If we look at the current market, the Samsung Galaxy A2 Core Price in Nepal puts it in a category where it can do some good things. Its direct competitor is Xiaomi Redmi Go which is a good and cheaper phone. In comparison with Redmi Go, A2 Core wins with a better processor if we don’t look at the small price difference. It is really good to see such big companies paying focus to the lower budget segment. Overall, it is a very good phone for a budget under Rs 10,000 in our view.
