When Realme 2 Pro launched in the international market, it was very popular due to its price value proportional products. The company stepped in Nepal just a few months back and now we are getting the Realme 2 Pro. In the mid range segment, this is a very interesting phone because at the time of writing this, none of the competitors offer 8 GB RAM at this price. The Realme 2 price in Nepal is Rs 31,999 for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage model in Daraz. This is a Daraz Exclusive product and for the time being it seems like best in the price range.
Many people these days love higher memory and storage specification. 4 GB is the norm while 6 GB is now in mid range and 8 GB is in flagship zone. However Realme 2 Pro is offering 8 GB RAM in a budget under Rs 35,000. This is very special and smartphone enthusiasts surely love it. Coupled with such higher memory we get Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. It is a mid-tier processor which is good for light gaming as well. SD 660 is a very popular chipset among mobile manufacturers
Realme 2 Pro Hardware Specifications
These are the specs of Realme 2 Pro.
- 6.3″ IPS LCD with Gorilla Glass 3 Protection
- 1080×2340 Screen resolution
- 3500 Lithium Ion Battery
- Snapdragon 660 chipset with Adreno 512 GPU
- 4/6/8 GB RAM and 64/128 GB storage option with 256 GB micro SD card support

- 16 MP f/2.0 front camera
Mainly we are focusing here on 128 GB model that is the top variant. This phone is priced very aggressively for Nepali market. As I said earlier, no competitor offers such memory and storage. Such can’t be said for the processor because SD 660 is used rampantly. However, the specs are very attractive because people like too have and show the memory size.

8 GB of memory is sufficient for any type of work or game. It can easily hold applications in the background even for more than 1 day in a good scenario. That does require good software optimizations though. However, if light to mid-level gaming, media consumption is your choice, the RAM is certainly enough. Snapdragon 660 is a capable processor and it is a very stable one.
The screen is also very big with good resolution and Gorilla glass cover. So it is protected and safe. It has 3500 mAh battery which is good but certainly not enough or best for that big screen. In terms of the camera the back 16 MP camera has f/1.7 aperture which means users can get better low light shots and depth effect. Combining that with 2 MP depth sensor, portrait shots can be much nicer. Rear side camera can also record 4K 30 fps videos for which we give a plus point. The front camera is 16 MP which means it packs enough pixels for high-resolution selfies.
Analysis and Conclusion
Realme is a company that is famous for providing value for the budget. It was sub-brand of Oppo but now it is an independent company. They are pretty famous in the online market and they are in the right direction here as well. Still many would argue the price is higher compared to international and Indian price and that is a topic with many companies here in Nepal. However, if we just see the Nepalese smartphone market, Realme 2 Pro is a good phone.
It comes with a matured octa-core processor that is good for low to mid-level tasks and gaming. RAM and storage are more than enough for almost all users. The big screen with small teardrop notch is also beautiful and provides a bigger space with a smaller footprint. The camera is also good if we consider the pixel count, aperture and video recording capability. Still many phones in market don’t have 4K recording capability.
The higher resolution may not be playable in many people’s computer but if we ought to consider future and quality to store memories then it is the best way. There are many things to like here in this phone such as big screen, enough storage and RAM, headphone jack, SD card support, 2160p recording and Gorilla Glass 3. In my view, Realme 2 Pro is a very good purchase at this price point.
