OnePlus launched the new revision of its 8 series in October 2020. Now the OnePlus 8T has been launched in Nepal. The new 8T brings small updates over the original OnePlus 8 in terms of battery, screen, and cameras. These can be taken as major updates. However, the main or core processor is the same. It is a phone that has been launched in the later cycle of release, but it is not an upgrade over the OnePlus 8 Pro. That Pro is the highest-end flagship from the company. Still, the normal model also brings a lot to the table.
The company launched OnePlus Nord N10 5G in Nepal a while ago. It was launched in the mid range segment as a 5G phone at a reasonable price. On the other hand, this is a flagship range smartphone with top class hardware. There is Snapdragon 865 processor, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, quad cameras, massive battery, high refresh rate screen, and smooth software. The OnePlus 8T comes with a lot of power and a price lower than flagship from other companies. The 8T model also boasts some design change compared to its older original brother.

Build and Design
The OnePlus 8T seems quite similar to the original model, but there are significant differences. First of all, the screen at the front is flat instead of curved. This means users lose the unique design. But they gain important and usable screen real estate. Another change at the back is the different camera placement. The OnePlus 8T has 4 cameras and dual-LED flashlights at the left top corner in a rectangular arrangement. In the older OP8, the cameras were at the center of the back in a vertical arrangement. The OP8T has a premium build with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. This means there is design and protection.
The phone doesn’t have a headphone jack, but there is dual stereo speaker support. Also, there is Dolby Atmos and LDAC codec support. With these things, users can enjoy the good sound from the loudspeaker, USB Type-C earphones, and TWS.

Core Internal Hardware
Inside the OnePlus 8T, there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. This is the same processor in the predecessor and OnePlus 8 Pro. It is one of the fastest and best-performing flagship processors of 2020. So the processing power is top-notch. The SoC has 8 GB base RAM and there is a maximum of 12 GB RAM option. For the storage, there are 128 GB and 256 GB UFS 3.1 options. However, there is SD card support like all other previous phones. By the way, we do have memory card support on cheaper Nord phones. In my personal opinion, phones should have SD card support.
In the case of the battery, there is a 4500 mAh battery with 65W warp charging. This is done at 10V and 6.5A current. It is a very high rate and industry-leading capacity. According to the company, it can do 100% charge in 39 minutes. The battery size is a bit bigger than the predecessor, and it is a good improvement. OnePlus 8T has a lot of power, and it competes with flagship phones of other companies. It can be a great daily driver and a powerful mobile gaming device with its hardware.
Screen and Cameras
The front of the OnePlus 8T holds a 6.55″ AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution. It is a modern and powerful display with an HDR10+ rating and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It means we can watch HDR content from various sources and also enjoy smooth operation. These days both things are catching up. Moreover, high refresh rate screens are becoming important. This is due to their role in improving user experience. A faster refresh rate makes all operations and animations feel faster and smoother. Predecessor OnePlus 8 only has 90 Hz, so this successor has a better screen. The screen at the front also has a notch at the top left corner with a 16 MP Sony IMX471 selfie camera. This camera can take FHD videos at 30 fps.
OnePlus 8T comes with improved cameras and also has one more sensor. There is a 48 MP Sony IMX586 main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. This camera has EIS and OIS for better stabilization. Then there is a 16 MP ultrawide camera with a 123° filed of view. The third one is a 5 macro sensor, and the fourth one is a 2 MP monochrome sensor. This setup can record videos at a maximum of 4K resolution at 60 fps. There is also support for 1080p 60/240 fps and 720p at 480 fps. The camera software has different modes such as CINE aspect ratio Video recording, Video Portrait, Nightscape, Pro Mode, RAW Image, Filter, Super Stable, and Video Nightscape. These modes can help users to take better results.
OnePlus 8T Price in Nepal, Purchase
OnePlus 8T is available for purchase in Nepal at Daraz and offline stores. It is available in Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver color options. These are the only two options in the international market as well. OnePlus 8T Price in Nepal is Rs 78,999 for the 8/128 GB model. Similarly, the price of the OnePlus 8T 12/256 GB model is Rs 85,999. The price is a bit on the higher side compared to India and the international market. But we expected them to be competitive like Nord N10 5G. Kratos Technologies Pvt. Ltd has taken over the distribution in Nepal, and pricing should get better in the future.
