Design and Build
POCO X3 NFC has a polycarbonate body with premium looking design. On the front side, there is a big 6.67″ screen with a hole punch. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. This means it is tough and has good protection. The bezel of all sides are thin, and there is just a small chin. The screen has a small hole-punch that houses a selfie camera. Volume rocker and fingerprint scanner are on the side of the phone. Similarly, the headphone jack and USB port are on the bottom side.
On the backside, there are four cameras with LED flash in a circular looking layout. It is a design that is polarizing because many people have different opinions. For people who just need performance and camera power, it is good as it can be. Poco X3 has a dual stereo speaker system, and it also has IP53 water and dust resistance rating.
Processor, Memory, Storage and Battery
Under the hood, Poco X3 uses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor with 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM. It is one of the first smartphones to have this processor. The Snapdragon 732G has an octa-core Kryo 470 CPU and Adreno 618 elite gaming series GPU. It brings performance uplifts compared to older 730G. This is a smartphone targeting gamers. Therefore, we can find Game Turbo 3.0 and LiquidCool technology 1.0 plus features. There are copper heat pipes and multi-layer graphite for dissipating heat. For storage, there is 128 GB UFS 2.1 onboard storage and support for an external SD card.
On the backside, there is a big 5160 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. According to the advertisement, it can charge up to 100% in 65 minutes. This big battery can give good long duration gameplay, video playback, social media browsing, and web surfing. The company claims to provide 10 hours of gameplay and 17 hours of video playback. However, it all depends on video resolution, game settings, quality, and refresh rate. So the performance can vary widely for different scenarios.
Display and Cameras
Poco X3 NFC has a brilliant 6.67″ IPS LCD screen with 1080×2400 resolution at 20:9 aspect ratio. It has HDR10 support, which means it can play HDR content from YouTube, Netflix, and other sources. One of the best things we get with the X3 NFC is the 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate. This gives a smooth and faster experience to the users. There is a Dynamic Switch feature, which helps change the refresh rate according to the task and content. If the games are made for a high frame rate and refresh rate, the screen will give a higher refresh rate. If you are consuming content for 60 Hz or below, it will set accordingly. These features are actually found in flagship phones, and we can find this in POCO X3. The Dynamic Switch actually helps to save battery by a big margin.
On the front side, there is a small hole punch with a 20 MP camera that can shoot 1080p videos at 30 fps. Similarly, on the backside, Poco X3 has four cameras. First one is 64 MP Sony IMX682 sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. Second is a 13 MP ultrawide camera with a 119˚ field of view. There is gyro-EIS and modes like pro mode, slow motion, AI Skyscaping 3.0, Night Mode, ShootSteady video, and Vlog mode.
