Nepal Telecom has launched a new premium service for GSM postpaid users. NT Pro is a new special service only available for postpaid users of the NTC GSM service. With help of the new NTPro mobile app that is available on Google and the Apple Store, the customers can enjoy calling any number in the network even when they are roaming. NT Pro users can also enjoy incoming calls from all networks. The introductory offers include both voice and video services for users.
This service is like an addon that needs an active internet connection for roaming calls. Therefore we need either mobile data or WiFi. Basically, voice and video calls are made over the internet. This is useful for customers who go to foreign and need roaming service at cheap. For example, if any NT Pro subscriber is out of network or country, users can place calls to a specified number using the app. The mobile app is required to receive calls and make calls and this is done by call forwarding.

Details of NT Pro Service: Features
Nepal Telecom’s NT Pro service is a unique service that provides VoIP or calling over the internet. This is somewhat like WhatsApp or Viber but unlike them, it is paid. At first, Nepal Telecom GSM post-paid service users need to subscribe to the NT Pro service and get the login credentials. The subscription process is explained below. Then users need to download the NTPro app for making calls over the internet and call forwarding is also essential to redirect calls to the user’s service number.
This premium service is useful for people who travel and need roaming services. Real roaming with a GSM network is very expensive. With the new service, subscribers can make SIP calls to any phone number in the NT network and receive calls in their NT Pro number over the internet using a new special mobile app. The rates are actually much cheaper than regular roaming charges.
There is a cost of calls and that will be linked with the main balance. By the way, there is no extra top-up or recharge required. Post paid SIM balance is used for the service. As this is a special service, the international roaming price is a bit cheaper. One important thing is that the service depends on internet speed, so call quality will obviously be affected by internet connection, speed, and stability.
NTC is also providing features like free instant messaging, video chat, meet-me conferences, and multi-party (ad-hoc) conferences within the NT Pro customers group. The service can be very helpful for many people, travelers, businessmen, etc.

How to Subscribe to NT Pro? Activate/Deactivate
It is very simple to subscribe to the NT Pro service. Both activation and deactivation can be done using the messaging app or sending SMS. In case of any issue or if you need more help, it is better to contact Nepal Telecom Mobile Service Directorate at Pulchowk.
- Subscribing / Activating
- Send a message or SMS to 1428 by typing “Sub NT Pro“.
- A message shall come to your number with a confirmation message. The message shall have a username and password as well. These credentials are for the NT Pro app.
- A code will also come which can be used to receive calls on the service number as well.
- Unsubscribing / Deactivating
- Send a message or SMS to 1428 by typing “Unsub NT Pro“.
- A message shall come to your number with a confirmation message about un-registration.
- Knowing Current Password
- Send a message or SMS to 1428 by typing “Pwd“.
- Adding ISD Features
- Send a message or SMS to 1428 by typing “Add intl“.
- Removing ISD Features/ Allowing only local calls
- Send a message or SMS to 1428 by typing “Rm intl“.
Charges
This is a paid service so there is a monthly rental charger. There is also different outgoing and incoming charge. There are different rates for local and ISD calls as well. The rates of the services exclusive of all taxes are as follows.

Additional and Free Services
The Pro users can enjoy many additional and free services. At first, there are free voice and video calls between NT Pro users. Then there is an instant messaging service for free. As the main feature, NT Pro users can make voice calls to any number using data while roaming. Subscribers can also enjoy ad-hoc conferencing, Meet Me conferencing, call waiting, call forward, and CLIP features. The new “Meet Me” conferencing is actually for corporate users. This is a new and interesting service of NTC and it is useful for businessmen. However, there is a big challenge from free VoIP service providers in the market.
