Xiaomi 12 series is the high-end line of smartphones for 2022. There are three phones in total and Xiaomi 12X is the base model of this family. By base model, we mean that 12X is the starting phone of the flagship range. Xiaomi 12X is similar in design to the other two phones which include the normal Xiaomi 12 and Pro models. The only differences are in the internal specifications. So let us discuss the specifications, hardware, price, and features of this smartphone in detail.
There are three flagship phones in the 12 series this year. At first, there is Xiaomi 12 Pro, secondly, there is Xiaomi 12, and finally Xiaomi 12X. These phones are upper-end devices and come in very different price tags. The prices are different and the hardware is also different but there are many similarities as well.
Xiaomi also launched two mid-range smartphones in the Nepali market. They are Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 11S. If you are looking for a new phone at an affordable price, you should have look at these two.

Design and Build
As we have also discussed in the article on Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro, all three phones have the same design. So Xiaomi 12X looks the same as its brother from front to back. Even the camera island and lens layout are exactly the same. It looks as if the company is using the same body but different hardware. Whatever the case is, the design is beautiful.
The Xiaomi 12X has a 152.7 x 69.9 x 8.2 mm dimension and 176g weight. It has a volume rocker and power button on the right side. On the top side, it has a microphone and speaker grill. Finally, at the bottom, there is the speaker grill, USB port, and SIM card slot. There are three speakers altogether which include two stereo speakers at the top plus the bottom and an earpiece. Two speakers provide stereo sound and on top of that, there is Dobly Atmos and sound tuning by Harman/Kardon. So overall top of line hardware for sound is to be found.
Internal Hardware: Processor, RAM, Battery
Xiaomi 12X has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor on the inside. It is different from the other two devices which use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. In terms of processing power, Snapdragon 870 is a flagship processor. It has been used in many high-end and gaming smartphones. As this processor produces heat just like other flagship chipsets, Xiaomi is using a 2600mm² vapor chamber for the liquid cooling purpose to keep the temperatures down on the chipset.
The phone is paired with 8 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB base UFS 3.1 storage. The maximum storage capacity is 256 GB and there is no micro SD card support. Also, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. We certainly don’t like the removal of such features whatever the reason may be.
The Xiaomi 12X has got a 4500 mAh battery on the inside with 67W fast charging. This is a very powerful rate and according to the company, it can go up to 100% in 39 mins with the new charger. The company is also shipping a 67W charger with the phone to its customers.
Display and Cameras
The Xiaomi 12X has a 6.28″ AMOLED screen just like the normal Xiaomi 12. All the display specs are the same. It has a Gorilla Glass Victus protection, 1080×2400 resolution, and 419 PPI pixel density. The screen has a high frequency with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 480 Hz touch sampling rate. The screen also has 1100 nits peak brightness, HDR10+ rating, DCI-P3 color gamut, and DisplayMate A+.
On the front side, there is a hole punch on-screen with a 32 MP camera with 1080p videos recording capability. Similarly, on the backside, there are three cameras. These cameras are similar to the Xiaomi 12. At first, there is a 50 MP primary camera. It has a Sony IMX766 with optical image stabilization (OIS). Then there is a 13 MP ultrawide angle camera with a 123˚ field of view. Finally, there is a 5 MP Telemacro camera or Telephoto Macro camera. The Telemacro camera is there to take both macro shots and do the job of telephoto. The rear camera app has modes such as Movie frame, One-click AI cinema, Cinematic video filters, Video pro mode, and Video log format. These can be very useful for vloggers and content creators who use their phones as the main camera.
