After the launch of Pride 1A a few months ago, Colors has launched new Pride 1x in Nepal. This is also a sub ten thousand rupees phone. The tagline of this mobile is saying 1 Series but many features. Colors is a manufacturer that specializes in this price range. They always bring new smartphones with updated software and hardware for the lower price category. This phone also brings new things to the table and the Nepalese market. The Colors Pride 1X price in Nepal is Rs 8,495. At this MRP it is offering things like a big HD screen, 4G support and Android Pie.
Pride series is a very big collection of budget smartphones. And the new 1x is another great addition for this year. The company has shown that they are embracing new technology and design in this model as well. However, we can see some trade-off in the feature department. For further details, we need to inspect the specifications of the Pride 1x.
Colors Pride 1x Specs and features
- 5.45″ IPS LCD panel with HD+ screen resolution
- 1.3 GHz quad core Mediatek processor
- 2 GB RAM
- 16 GB internal storage
- 3000 mAh battery
- 8 MP Back camera
- 5 MP front camera
- Android 9 Pie with GMS certification
The 1x is coming with a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and 2 GB RAM. This is a minimum hardware setup for a smartphone these days. For storage, there is 16 GB inbuilt and there is SD cards support as well. The screen is 5.45″ in diagonal and it has HD resolution with 18:9 aspect ratio. People love this big tall aspect ratio as it helps to cut down bezel at top and bottom. Smaller chin and forehead are in trend and manufacturers are in the race of removing them completely.

Pride 1x is running with 3000 mAh battery and it is a pretty good size for mobile with this hardware. The phone is using Android Pie and not Android One here. That could have provided much faster experience but Android 9 is pretty well optimized so it can run the OS well. In terms of feature, there is facial recognition and face unlock. This phone cuts the price by removing physical rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and using software for face unlock.
The backside of the phone has an 8-megapixel camera and the front side has a 5-megapixel camera that can also take HD videos. These are normal sets of camera modules for mobile of this range. The quality and resolution of these sensors are decent and can be used in well-lighted conditions.
Impressions
For network, the phone supports dual SIM. One can support 4G and next can do 3G. There VoLTE support on this phone which is great because soon NTC is also starting VoLTE in Nepal. This is an entry-level mobile phone and it has hardware according to it. We like the fact that there is a quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM, good high definition LCD screen and a reasonable size battery. In fact this is a very good device for the price.
Many competitors are just offering 1 GB RAM at this range but Colors is doing something extra with higher memory and better features. The only thing missing is the fingerprint scanner. We know face unlock does the work but it is not as fast and versatile as a physical scanner. This could have been a cost-cutting measure but we felt that it was important. But overall Colors Pride 1x is a pretty good option for a smartphone under Rs 10,000 budget.
